Smith the Grocers – Cheese Scones

www.misopeckish.comEver since being back at work, I have been feeling rather peckish lately, where I am  wanting something to eat around 9-10am even though having had breakfast at home.  On these days I seem to be finding myself popping out for a scone and the latest place is Smith The Grocers, as our temporary office is located very close to it.

I thought I would give up Pravda cheese scones for today to try out Smith the Grocers.    They advertise their cheese scones as Wellington’s Best Cheese scones – even more the reason why I should give these a try.

Cheese Scone – good sized scone for $4.50.   I was asked if i wanted it toasted or heated.   I opted for toasted.   The cheese scone itself was rather gritty, similar in texture to gluten free baked products.

Personally, I am not a fan of these cheese scones, as Pravda cheese scones are far superior.

I also found that the majority of the savoury cabinet food items at Smiths the Grocers to be awefully expensive.

Dear reader, where is your current favourite place for a cheese scone?
