It has certainly been a while since I last visited little and Friday for one of their delicious doughnuts, so I thought I would take the opportunity to go this time after hearing they had relocated to a larger more light and airy a premises which is just around the corner.
It is definitely positive thing for little and Friday to move as it provides more seating for patrons to enjoy their brought goodies.
Raspberry and remember diplomat doughnut – I don’t know what had happened to these doughnuts but they definitely have a lot more filling I them that’s what I remember them to be. When you lift or up you can definitely notice how heavy the doughnuts are, as they at made with brioche dough which is generally makes a softer dough but also making it slightly heavy. Certainly not something you would want to eat every day.
Lemon and Passionfruit Cake – it seems that the cake was made with oil rather than butter, but I am not 100% sure about that. I was actually hoping that the cake would have more of a passionfruit flavour to it which it did not. There were certainly some passionfruit seed throughout the cake, but I had also noticed some hard bits of cake at the bottom of the cake which I was not impressed with.
Hot x Bun – is fairly heavy and dense with alot of fruit, spices and peel. Quite a nice hot x bun if you like heavy hot x buns, otherwise I would personally would like it to be slightly fluffier and airy but with the same amount of fruit and spices. At $3.50 for an individual hot x bun, it is affordable compared to some hot x buns I have had in Wellington, which you can read here.
Little and Friday’s is always a delight to visit, with all the sweet and savoury items on offer.
