I must admit, every time I visit Queenstown I always look forward to the good ol’ Ferburger. It has become a tradition and a must visit every time we are here and certainly something great to fill your stomach on after a day on the mountain.
When I eat burgers at Burger King or MacDonalds I always feel unsatisfied, but the burgers at Fergburgers always leave me full and satisfied every single time, due to its share size and the quality of the ingredients.
Southern Swine with Pineapple – Unfortunately today, there were no avocado, so substituted it with my favourite pineapple which suited me fine as I was originally going ot order the Tropical swine.
Cookadoodle Oink – was the first ever chicken burger that either Mr Wasabi or I have ordered from Fergburger and is the only chicken breast burger that is made, as other chicken burgers uses chicken tenderloins. the chicken breast is crumbed and deep fried, but sometimes you would think the chicken breast would dry and tough, this was certainly not the case for this chicken breast, it was very tender with a nice crispy coating. It reminded me more like a chicken schnitzel but in a slightly thicker form with the usual burger filling of lettuce, onion, aioli, tomato relish, tomato and bacon. The bacon was super smokey
Unlike other burger fast food chains, the burger buns are made fresh several times a day next door at Ferg Baker, which means the buns are exceptional soft and fresh. *Mr Wasabi Recommended Dish*
Cookadoole Doo – to be honest I was not a huge fan of this chicken burger. There were three grilled tenderloins in this burger but did not find that it was enough protein to satify my tastebuds as there were parts of the burger where I was literally eating the bun and lettuce only, wondering where the protein was. In comparison to the beef burgers where you had a bite of the beef pattie with every single burger bite.
Fries – are thin cut chips with their skins on which give it a nice rustic feel to them. Each chip is cooked perfectly till golden and ccrunchy. one pot of chips is definitely enough to feed at least 2 mouths. They do come with a sauce to your choosing either, wasabi mayo, aioli, tomato, or BBQ.
Depending on what time of day you arrive, the queue and wait could be excess $20 minutes at times. All burgers are made to order and you customise the burgers any way you want especially if you have a dietary requirement.
