Who would say ‘no’ to ice cream? certainly not Mr Wasabi. Kapai Ice Cream & Espresso serves up delicious Kapiti ice cream which are known as one of New Zealands premium ice creams, which are fairly creamy rather than some cheaper icy versions.
Kapai Ice Cream & Espresso is more of a take away place than a cafe, though they do have a couple of tables outside if you wanted to sit and eat your ice cream. But on a nice lovely summers day, I would suggest finding a seat along the waterfront.
Mr Wasabi and I ordered a double scoop on a waffle cone to share with the following flavours:
Triple Chocolate – Rich and velvety chocolate flavoured ice cream blended with real chocolate pieces and a swirl of decadent chocolate sauce.
Nectarine – nectarines and rich muscovado piece made a very sweet and creamy ice cream.
Flat White – Coffee beans by Di Bella – and is perhaps one of the worst coffees I have had. The coffee was weak, very watery and extremely hot
Definitely recommend their ice creams, but do not think much of their coffee.
