Airline Lounge Review: AIRNZ Koru Lounge – Christchurch Domestic Airport

www.misopeckish.comAfter the huge overhaul to modernise Christchurch Airport, a new Koru Lounge was born, occupying a large area above the departure gates with ample of seating and views of the runway, you would think this would have to be one of the nicest domestic Koru Lounges in New Zealand.

The large floor to ceiling windows provides good natal light into the lounge, and during the summer months sitting next to the windows in the late afternoons/evenening can prove to get fairy hot and sunny.  The lounge offers a good array of seating in the form of communial benches, chairs, bench seating and tables and chairs.

There is a dedicated  food area which consists of Drinks areas and hot food area and snacks.   So depending on the time of day you visit you will be served with breakfast, lunch, dinner or snacks in between times.

There is also a dedicated coffee bar which is maned during the day where the barrister makes your coffee to order.

A dedicated magazine/newspaper stand, and every time I am here I never manage to get any newspapers to read as they fly out like hotcakes.

The only downside to this lounge is that power outlets are only available at the communal tables.

Amenities: Free Wifi, Showers, Business Centre, Meeting Rooms, Magazines and Newspapers, Espresso Bar, private chairs with tablets

Hours: 0500 until last departure

Location:  Christchuch Domestic Airport, after security on the left upstairs

Verdict: Large and modern, ample of seating, however during busy times it can get a bit crowded.
