Lamb on Chapel

www.misopeckish.comAs you normally do when travelling to another city while on holiday, one tends to expore the suburbs by feet.   on our second day in Melbourne we decided to head out to Chapel Street for a bit of window shopping.

We walked past this Greek restaurant where they cook their meat over hot coals, which is one of Plus 1’s favourite.  As meat tends to taste so much nicer when cooked over coal.

Kebabs is synonymous as a place to go to after a huge night out and this place is no exception.  This place strikes you as greasy take away joint from the outside. But when you enter you’ll find it clean and it actually has a nice, if small dining area where you can sit down and someone will come take your order. Of course you can always order at the counter and have your food to go.

Grilled Lamb w Salad – Even though we just had breakfast an hour ago, Plus one could not let this opportunity to go by and ordered something small from the menu.   The grilled lamb was tender with a nice smokey coal flavour to it.  The salad was was crisp and fresh, providing a good balance to the dish.

This place serves wonderful Greek food, namely gyros and kebabs.  They use high quality Australian whole lamb which is on a spit constantly rolling over hot coals and the smells are amazing.  For those who don’t like lamb at all, go for the chicken, beef, pork, or seafood kebab.
