Customs brew bar specialises in various coffee brewing methods, as well as the usual espresso coffees.
The alternate brewing methods are more expensive due to the equipment required and the amount of time/attention it needs.
One thing to note is that they do not do coffee to take away. There are seats both indoors and outside on the pavement, which is nice on a sunny day.
Serving a small selection of counter food, to go with your coffee, they also sell whole beans or ground to suit Supreme coffee beans.
As usual we ordered two coffees. I decided to order something special, the Chemex.
Chemex – never had a fancy coffee before, so decided to give Chemex a try. in a nut shell it is basically a filtered coffee served black,. but you can ask for some milk on the side.. I much prefer it back to be honest.
Temperature of the coffee was good, not pipping hot and not too cold either.
Flat White – coffee was slightly on the burnt side. Not as smooth as it could be.
If you love your coffee and you enjoy alternative brewing techniques, or you enjoy single origin coffee beans, then this place is for you, or if you want to have a good coffee without the hustle and bustle.
